Company Overview

companyAppalachian Geo Data, LLC, was started by Luis Lora and Bob Curfman, both military veterans who bring their organizational skills and personal discipline to their work. Luis started in the mud logging business after attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO in 2002. Luis has logged wells for many major oil and gas companies throughout the Rocky Mountain Region and also in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

Bob started in the mud logging business in 1981, after being discharged from the US Army. Bob has close to 30 years experience logging wells from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border, and two years experience in the Marcellus shale in upstate NY and Pennsylvania.

Mud logging is more than just simple gas detection. Raw data from the rig must be interpreted and edited by a professional geologist in order to produce a valid mud log. The ability to edit data and display it in a meaningful form is what distinguishes a logging instrument from a simple rig-based gas detector.

Our goal at Appalachian Geo Data is to serve the oil and gas industry by providing accurate, reliable gas detection and lithological information, compiled and interpreted by experienced and conscientious mud loggers.
